I thought he was going away for a few months? Hope everything is ok?
He was going to be, but everything is okay - basically, I think New Delhi was a way huger culture shock for him than anticipated (since he’s had some experience of huge madcap ‘dirty’ cities before, having visited Cairo...
i have a tigger plaster on my shin (damn shaving), room deserves some attention (of course) and i still feel a bit ickysicky… but it’s all kind of okay, because in just over twenty four hours, dom is going to be back.
came home sick (feeling like i was going to keel over, cramping to high heaven, etc) but the day improved thoroughly from there. still don’t feel amazing, but considering i’ve mostly been in/on bed, it has been a good afternoon. iron infusion appointment is made (a month away, argh, but still, will be excellent to get it done), i have chatted to dom (though he isn’t feeling too...

eating my not-really-famous-but-still-delish inadvertently vegan chocolate cake and watching doctor who. missing dom but not to a prohibitive degree. fervently wishing that i was in india too. getting on with life.
am now at the wtf is going on, how the hell am i going to go to work tomorrow, why the hell am i still in this city, etc etc point.
it is going to be a long night.
hopefully not a long few months.
gone
dom is gone. i got home from the airport about half an hour ago. i held it together at the airport, only a few tears and only while i was getting my last hug (i refused to let him go until i had them under control, since i was aiming not too look too ridiculous in front of his sisters and co.). i was tearful before we left the house, though, particularly when i got a massive leg cramp that hurt...

wondering what could have been doesn’t help anything, but sometimes it just can’t be avoided.
there are definitely times that i wonder what could have happened if i’d been a bit more reckless (though at the time that didn’t seem possible) and stayed on in new york, somehow. there would have been ways to make it happen, i don’t doubt. stuck around, found an under the...

raw thoughts after getting home from the dresden dolls:
good playlist. didn’t get truce, but my other Three Desired Ones (gravity, war pigs and SING) were all played.
brian is a babe.
the sound is so much more complete and amazing and just fucking rad with the two of them. songs that i’ve heard live like ten times (coin-op, astronaut, etc) totally came alive with drums.
beastie...

merfismerfi replied to your post: i do think horoscope-y tarot-y things are…
As I see it, they make these things very broad so they could apply to anyone. Sorry bro.
well, yes. that goes without saying, but it’s still fun. and can give cause for self-examination, which is rarely a bad thing, unless it strays into being overly scrutinising.
i do think horoscope-y tarot-y things are bullshit, but it’s still fun to see when things line up in an appropriate manner. i’ve been going through old gala darling blog posts the last few days, and happened up on one today that had a link to a name analyser thing, and this is what it had to say about BRIAR.
Your first name of Briar has made you a friendly, approachable, and...

something that is kind of exciting (for me, at least) that i forgot to mention - somewhat on the colitis front, i am getting an iron infusion in a few weeks.
my colitis symptoms are (by and large) getting better - i’m still not normal, by any stretch of the imagination, but compared with nine months ago, i’m waaaay better - but i have still been dealing with blood loss (and have been...
so there is now a chance (and i really have no idea how much of one, but i’m guessing fairly small) that i might wind up spending the american summer based in boston.
:O
the museum of fine art is looking for an egyptology graduate for some position. enter dom, stage right. not sure how tricky the visa process and whatnot would be, since he’s not going to be in nz for most of the...

after a few too many days of marilyn manson and howard shore (contrasting, sure. both good at times, absolutely.) (and, more often, actually, the sounds of the new star wars old republic game) coming from dom’s computer in MY room, i have taken charge, in pursuit of mutual creative benefit, and now we are listening to my ‘study’ playlist, which so far has involved cat power,...
